What's the appeal?

Today's search focusses on the Southern Alicante region and just over the border into Murcia - flights to the area from the UK take around 2 and a half hours. This area is very popular with hundreds of thousands of visitors every year drawn to the sandy beaches of the Costa Blanca and its famous salt lakes. Another attraction of this region is the Mar Menor which is just over the border in Murcia. It’s Europe’s largest coastal lagoon and is separated from the Mediterranean Sea by a 13 mile long strip of land.
