A two-and-a-half-hour flight from the UK into Porto and a short drive south takes you to the Silver Coast in northwest Portugal — a 90-mile stretch named after the sun’s shimmering reflection on the Atlantic Ocean. It’s best known for the water sports on offer here, as well as the beautiful countryside and forests.
At the northern end, there are some stunning traditional towns and cities such as Ovar and Aveiro, and the whole area has retained its charm and community feel. Already popular with French, Brazilian, and North American buyers, this part of Portugal is becoming more and more popular with British buyers too.
