Sammie has brought along her best friend Tash to help her look for a holiday house on the island of Mallorca. Laura Hamilton is tasked with finding Sammie’s perfect place for their maximum budget of £175,000. Will any of the five properties they see get the seal of approval?
About the area
Located 125 miles off the eastern coast of Spain, Mallorca is the largest island in the archipelago known as the Balearic Islands. There are loads of flights to the capital, Palma, taking around two and a half hours. Aside from its stunning beaches and sheltered coves, Mallorca is also known for its rich history, limestone mountains, and fabulous Mediterranean climate. Our search today will take in the southwest of the island — Mallorca's most built-up side and home to a British staple: the lively resort of Magaluf.
With its 50 bars and five nightclubs, it's not hard to see why this vibrant town is considered party central. But we're also paying a visit to the less populated north of Mallorca, with its gorgeous, rugged, unspoilt coastline. Mallorca has the second most expensive properties in Spain and all of its islands. In the southwest of Mallorca, two-bedroom properties close to the coast can start from £230,000, but on the northern coastline, similar properties can be around £50,000 cheaper.
