About the area

Direct flights from the UK to Malaga are frequent and take under 3 hours. Lots of Spain’s holiday hotspots are found on the coastal stretch from Malaga southwards towards Gibraltar, and so many of the resorts have a bustling, international feel- and of course, the beaches are second to none. Loads of these are blue flagged, golden, and stretching for miles - backed by gleaming promenades and pedestrianised streets filled with places to eat, drink and shop.

There’s character and tradition to be found here too, with many of the resorts such as San Pedro and La Duquesa having their own pockets of history, dotted with churches and lighthouses. To cater for the tourists, there’s lots of shopping and man-made attractions like Alcazaba lagoon where visitors can lounge on white sands by crystal waters and sip on Sangria.
