About the area

The Eastern Algarve is spread across Portugal’s stunning south Atlantic coastline. Its super easy to get to, flights from the UK to its main airport, Faro, take less than three hours. But despite the easy access by plane, the Eastern Algarve tends to be quieter than the rest of the South Coast. It’s well known for its tranquil sandy beaches, and the pretty whitewashed villages hugging the coastline, that serve fresh seafood every day. Running along the region's border, the Guadiana River separates Portugal from neighbouring Spain and close to its shores are a collection of nature reserves, inhabited by stunning birds and wildlife.
