Jacqueline is looking for a permanent home on the Greek island of Lefkada and she’s brought her sister-in-law Linda along to help her with the search. For her budget of £292,000, property expert Ben Hillman is tasked with finding her the perfect place. He has five fantastic properties to show them, but will any result in a sale?
About the area
Lefkada lies just off the west coast of mainland Greece – and just north of the island of Kefalonia. As Lefkada doesn’t have its own airport, you fly into Preveza airport on the mainland which takes about 3 ½ hours from the UK and then it’s under half an hour’s drive over the bridge which links the island and the mainland. Lefkada has connections with the Greek poet Homer – historians claim it was the home of his hero Odysseus. Nowadays it’s best known as a haven for sailing and other water sports with more than 70 miles of coastline, including some simply stunning beaches! In recent years this beautiful island has become increasingly popular with holiday makers and buyers both from Greece and the rest of Europe.
