House hunter Ros is looking for a beautifully traditional holiday home to the east of the Greek island of Crete and has brought along her sister in law Ruth to help. Working with her budget of £90,000 Lee Juggurnauth has five great options to show them, but will any have the perfect combination of authentic Greek character alongside space for Ros’ children and grandchildren to visit?
About the area
Seen as the quieter and perhaps less discovered side of the island, it’s still pretty easy to get to with daily flights into Heraklion airport from the UK taking about four hours. The coastline here has a light dusting of tourist towns, the largest being Agios Nikolaos home to a lovely harbour and plenty of restaurants. Inland you’ll find some gorgeous hidden away town and villages smothered with authentic Cretan character.
