Torrevieja, Spain - A Place in the Sun

Torrevieja, Spain Lee Juggurnauth

Lee Juggurnauth jets off to Torrevieja on Spain’s Costa Blanca to help ex-engineer Ash and retired banker Anila find their dream holiday home. Happily married for 43 years and a budget of £135,000 they want a three bedroom property with a swimming pool that the children and grandchildren can all enjoy. Can Lee deliver their dream with any of the five fantastic properties he’s found?

About the area

Torrevieja lies within the Alicante Province along the Costa Blanca coastline. It was originally a salt-mining and fishing village, as it is located between the Sea and two large salt lakes (Las Salinas). Nowadays, it’s a bustling city with a lively atmosphere all year round (day and night) – but still much quieter and relaxed than Alicante and Benidorm. Torrevieja has one of the largest number of British residents of all the Spanish municipalities.

Torrevieja is about 28 miles from Alicante International Airport (40-min drive). You can fly direct to Alicante from the UK (flight time: 2 hrs 40 mins), and fares can be as cheap as £25 one way.
