Full Description

Located in the peaceful village of Velina, in Korinthia, this family home provides the double benefit of being close to the beaches of North Peloponnese and Ziria Ski Resort. An ideal base to explore the Peloponnese all year round.

Developed over two floors on a 408 sqm plot, it offers 130 sqm of net living spaces in the main building and 40 sqm in the guesthouse, located in the property's yard. It should be noted that its walls are 70 cm thick. Constructed in 1929, the residence was fully renovated and modernized in 1995. It comprises an 80 sqm ground floor with a living/dining room fitted with a fireplace, an open-plan kitchen, a bedroom, a bathroom, and a spacious hallway. Located on the first floor is another bedroom, a bathroom as well as a living room with a fireplace. Flooring is tiled on the ground floor and wood on the first floor, while the floors communicate via a wooden interior staircase. Frames and windows are also wooden, and the house is sold fully furnished.

A traditional outdoor wood-fired oven can be found in the garden, as well as a sheltered shed for storing wood and open-air parking. The courtyard of the house is distinguished for its lush vegetation,

Location

On the slopes of Mt. Ziria (or Kyllini), at an altitude of 900 m., and surrounded by a black pine and fir forest, the village of Velina existed during the Venetian census of the area in 1700AD. Although secluded and tranquil, the village is centrally located in northern Peloponnese, just 25 km from the highway connecting Corinth (and Athens) with Patras, thus offering easy access to most sights and beaches along the peninsula's northern coast. The area is brimming with history and archaeological sites, the most prominent of which is the archaeological site and museum of Ancient Corinth with the glorious Apollo Temple erected in 550 BC.
