Palomares is a lovely little Spanish village set just back from the beach, here prices of properties are far more accessible than in nearby towns. The absolutely fabulous, almost untouched beach with its grove of pine and eucalyptus trees is just 850 metres from the village, the fact that the village is set back from the beach adds to its unspoilt character. The village has an agricultural background so do not be surprised if you see the local goat farmer passing his goats though the village. There is an abundance of bars, restaurants, shops and a lovely village square which is a social focal point a great street market on Wednesdays full of fresh local produce. The village has a lovely homely ?lived in? feeling all year round, as opposed to other areas where the winters quite often feel like you are in one of those America B movies, ?The Last Man on the Planet?! Palomares has retained its very special ?Spanish Village? feeling whilst at the same time you will feel very comfortable and welcome as a foreign resident or visitor. There is quite a nice mixture of local Spanish and foreign residents who are mainly British with all sorts of things going on both for locals and for visitors.
