La Baita is located in the hills of Caprese Michelangelo, in the province of Arezzo, in the Tuscan part of the Upper Tiber Valley. Caprese Michelangelo, which is approx. 6 km away, is a charming, medieval, hilltop town of approx. 1,500 inhabitants, whose most famous son is maestro Michelangelo Buonarroti. Caprese Michelangelo is also know for a unique variety of chestnut, which has DOP status (the equivalent of DOCG wine) and which can only be grown in Caprese Michelangelo and part of Anghiari called ‘Marrone di Caprese Michelangelo’.
