PORTION OF ANCIENT TOWER FINISHED FOR THE STRUCTURE IN SARNANO, C.DA TERRO, 5 KM FROM THE CENTER
This is the oldest construction of the village with a rectangular plan of the size of 11.00 x 9.00 m (portion of the tower), a squat tower with a height of about 11.00 m now confused by attached buildings, but very clear in plan, made with rough and squared stone, with well-worked and squared corner stones made with blocks of high quality and natural agglomerated limestone .
What is certain is that the building, probably built in 1600, was not intended for housing, as subsequently occurred, by means of targeted transformations which however did not cancel the original state of the defensible tower.
The property in its entirety is now finished for the structure and for all the exteriors as a result of a restoration carried out within seismic criteria in 1995, while part of the adhering units were partially completed and inhabited by residents.
