The village has a unique Andalusian feel, with its steep streets and white washed houses. In between the historical features, like the second oldest church in Spain, there are also a lot of modern facilities, like a medical centre, a cinema, lots of bars, restaurants and supermarkets, a local sports complex and a large public swimming pool!

The annual fiestas are the perfect way to indulge yourself into the Andalusian lifestyle and during the week you can visit different markets and explore the beautiful surroundings of the village. The Ardale lakes, where you can practice all kinds of water sports or go hiking, are just a stone´s throw away. The famous Camino del Rey and the nature reserve of El Torcal are also close and make you feel especially lucky to live in such a beautiful area.
Alora is 45 minutes (45 km.) from the city of Málaga and the airport. The beaches of the Costa del Sol (Torremolinos) are a 40 minute (48 km.) drive away.
