Full Description

A glorious location nestled between forests and meadows, on the outskirts of a quiet hamlet you will find this special ensemble. It consists of a house, various outbuildings and 8,6 acre. An interesting combination! The house is like many houses in the Limousin built with lovely local stone, but this property stands out because of the half-timbered extension on the first floor.

On the ground floor there is an entrance that gives access to an attractive living room (204 ft2) with an old stone floor, exposed beams and white limed walls with large fireplace with wood stove. Next to the living room, in an extension, a spacious but simple kitchen (247 ft2). The former stone exterior wall has become an inner wall. The roof of the kitchen was renewed in 2015.

On the other side of the entrance hall a toilet (narrow entrance door) with washing machine connection and sink. There is also a simple bathroom with bath and washbasin. Through the living room you reach the first floor. Here is a second living room. Due to the expansion having windows on all sides a nice bright space! And since you are on the first floor you will of course benefit from the view of the surroundings. There is also a bedroom (90 ft2). A narrow staircase leads you to the attic floor where two bedrooms are in line with each other. These are partly equipped with a paneling.

The house is basic, but certainly attractive. It finally offers a large kitchen, 2 living rooms and 3 bedrooms!

The former barn is perpendicular to the house. This has been used as a studio and then transformed into a guest house. There is a kitchen and a bathroom on the ground floor (under construction, no ceiling).

On the floor a sitting area and a dining room. Here is also the wood stove. Two rooms/bedrooms have been created on the mezzanine. The front walls have been partly removed at a number of places: there has been a mould. The walls and floors have been treated and the mould removed. There is still some work to be done to make this space habitable again. An excellent addition to the current living space, but you can also re-use is as workshop. In addition to the studio, a storage space.

Diagonally opposite the house is a stone outbuilding (Creperie - 215 ft2). A nice building that is suitable for many purposes. The location of the buildings creates a sort of courtyard garden.

There are various (flowering) trees and shrubs, so you can always enjoy the weather and the different colours throughout the seasons. It is also worth mentioning the 'cave' that is on the site. In the war, this seems to have been used by refuges.

The house is located on the outskirts of a hamlet. The road that she is on turns into a paved path that gives access to pastures. The site is located at the front of the house and covers no less than 8,6 acre. It is located elevated to the house and consists of a small pond, pasture and forest. The biggest part is forest. There are several large trees and also various fruit trees. You can enjoy the view and tranquility of your own terrain in various places. The pasture has become somewhat wild, but camping on your own property is definitely recommended!

There is a wooden outbuilding next to the pasture. So if you want to keep animals, then they also have a shelter. A supermarket for daily necessities can be reached within 5-10 minutes drive.

You have complete rest in the hamlet, but you can also look up the crowds at the tourist lake the Lake Vassiviere, just a few minutes away. In the summer there is plenty to do here and you can swim or just sunbathe on one of the many beaches. But water sports are also possible.

There are several restaurants for a refreshing ice cream or a snack.

The department of Haute-Vienne is in the region of Limousin and boasts a varied landscape of forests, countryside and lakes that attract many tourists each year looking for a range of activities including walking, fishing, sailing, boating and skiing.

In addition, the department has a strong historical and cultural heritage and the landscape is dotted with Roman churches, abbeys and fortified castles. Beautiful man-made beaches are easily accessible and are a good alternative for a great day out. In particular, the Lake of Vassiviere, created in 1950, is extremely popular with visitors.

It is sometimes known as the Land of a Thousand Lakes, the Limousin and its Haute-Vienne department offer beautiful and preserved landscapes. Waterfalls sparkling in the middle of rocks and trees, myriads of flowers and impressive dense forests are the kind of treasures that can be discovered in the department.

Transport links are good too, the easy and cheap access from the United Kingdom with companies as Ryanair or from French cities made that Limoges and the Haute-Vienne became an attractive destination. There is also a project of enlargement for Limoges' airport.

The department has a semi-continential climate with summer temperatures in the mid 20's, perfect for enjoying the scenery.
