Caldas da Rainha is a 15 minute drive. Caldas is a good sized town with a fabulous town centre filled with a variety of shops, restaurants and cafes. There are also hotels and a cultural centre where there is a regular programme of music, theatre and performing arts in addition to various events. There is a daily fruit and vegetable market where you can purchase local produce, fruit, vegetables as well as cheeses, breads, flowers and a variety of other local items.
On Mondays there is a large market where you can buy almost anything for the home and garden.

The house is close to all transportation links and is an hour away from Lisbon and the Lisbon International Airport.
