This beautiful country property was fully restored but maintains some wonderful, rustic features. The house has four bedrooms in total and 1 large family bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a mezzanine above so perfect for a play area for children, storage or even another bedroom.
Entering through the front door, we are lead into the living room with a bedroom to the right and the open space kitchen diner to the left. Off of the kitchen diner is a spacious hallway which is where the other 3 bedrooms and family bathroom comes off of.
The kitchen is open space and has lots of natural light. In the kitchen diner, there is a good size wood burner that backs onto a lovely feature wall that is an original exposed stone wall.
Through an arch way we have the living room. Here there are also two exposed stone walls and another log burner, so there is always a great, cozy feeling around the house. Again, in this room there is also plenty of natural light.
Off of the living room is the fourth bedroom, this is at the complete opposite side of the house so it has lots of privacy from the other bedrooms.
The property has a terrace area to the front which would be perfect for sun bathing in the summer or just relaxing with a glass of wine after a busy day.
The garden is a sun trap but has lovely shady spots but also plenty of spots to catch the sun most of the day.
The property is around 5 minutes away from town. Tomar, which has supermarkets, shops, builders merchants, cafes, restaurants, health centres, schools, a weekly market, swimming pools and historic Convento do Cristo and Castle constructed by the Knight Templars in the 12th century.
To Castelo de Bode Lake it is only around 20 minutes away. This lake is popular for all kinds of water sport activities including swimming, sailing, canoeing, scuba diving, wind surfing and water skiing. The lake is also a haven for wildlife and there are many river beaches close to the property, ideal for relaxing on sunny days at the water's edge.
The closest airport to the property is situated at Lisbon, which is around one and a half hours' drive from the cottage, though it is possible to utilize either train or bus for this journey. Lisbon airport is serviced by several low cost airlines which operate regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom and other European countries.
