The hillside location of Villa Tick-Toc means that the entrance is tucked away at the rear of the fully-fenced property, accessed from the five-space car park via the exterior staircase that flanks the split-level home. The name Villa “Tick-Toc” is derived from the special built-in clock which is embedded into the wall of the house and the lush tropical neighborhood of La Toc.
Main Floor
The main floor comprises an open-plan living and dining space featuring a contemporary Caribbean decor and low-maintenance, eco-friendly materials that give the room plenty of comfort as well as easy functionality. Vinyl flooring looks like dark-stained hardwood without the hassle, LED lighting is subtle and a distressed wood wall is balanced with the same accent in the kitchen.
Separated by an elegant, quartz-topped island with bar-height seating for the family, the chef’s kitchen offers high-end stainless steel appliances include a commercial grade 6-burner gas cooktop, double-door refrigerator with drawer freezer, built-in grill/microwave combo and an extra wide baker’s oven. Soft-closing cabinets in hardware-free minimalist black provide excellent storage. Overlooking the pool deck, the stainless steel double trough sink is sunk into off white-quartz countertops and boasts a state-of-the-art faucet fixture with multi-functions. A central water purification system beneath the house is just one of the properties practical hidden surprises.
Villa Tick Toc’s original aesthetic was ‘traditionally tropical’ but the redesign has married updated, modern features which enhance many of its existing and unique characteristics. The polished wood louvre windows at the rear of the main floor combined with stylish tempered glass sliding doors allow the natural cooling breezes to sweep through the home while capturing the panoramic ocean views from the main balcony. On every floor, the west-facing glass doors have built-in blinds for shade and UV reduction and form a watertight wall which protects the home during the rainy season, while the balconies on all three floors have wood-look composite decking and stainless steel cable railings for complete visibility of daily sunsets.
The sundeck with its round plunge pool and privacy screen is just off the main floor balcony, overlooking the sloping garden which is home to many attractive flowering trees and a large, comfortable kennel for the family pets.
