The house has wonderful traditional elements which would deserve to be maintained.
The house has a footprint of 135 square meters and is set over three floors. The plot measures a total of 665 square meters.
The ground floor at some time housed an off-set printing company.
Exterior stone steps lead to the main door on the first floor at the side of the house. We enter a centralized, l-shaped corridor, from which there is a door to the right to either an office or a small bedroom. To the left there is a door to a living room with doors to a small conservatory with views to the front of the house. The next door on the right hand side leads us into a second, larger living room with a door to an open terrace to the front of the house.
Back into the corridor, we turn right and we have a door to the left hand side, to a bedroom. There are wooden stairs from the corridor leading up to the attic floor.
At the end of the corridor, there is a hall, from which, to the right hand side, we have a door to the rather large bathroom with toilet, bidet, pedestal sink and bath tub.
From the hall, there is a storage room and at the end of the corridor there are five steps up into the very rustic kitchen. The kitchen has a door to the exterior, from where there is a terrace to where small livestock was kept.
Back into the house and up the wooden stairs, we arrive on a small corridor. We have a room to the front with en-suite dressing room. This room has a door to a terrace to the front of the house with good views. To the right, there is a second bedroom with en-suite dressing room and to the right hand side another dressing room with access to two dressing rooms. To the rear of the corridor there is a storage room with a door to each side, each to another storage room. These three back storage rooms are in pretty bad state of repair.
To the front of the house, there is garden space with 530 square meters, perfect to install a wonderful garden, with flowers and trees.
The property is located within walking distance of the center of town of Sertã with all its amenities. Sertã is an attractive historic town built on either side of a stunning river setting. It has many restaurants and bars as well as 3 major supermarkets, banks, schools, library, theater, cultural center, municipal swimming pool and river beach. There are also 2 weekly markets, held every Friday, one selling fruit, vegetables and livestock and the other selling clothes, tools, plants, shoes etc.
Central Portugal is famous for its beautiful river beaches of which there are a dozen located within 30 minutes' drive from this property, including the renowned water sports center at Trízio, where the European wake board championship is held.
Both the university city of Coimbra and the historic town of Tomar, which is home to the UNESCO listed Convento do Cristo, are only a 45 minutes´ drive from the property.
There are a good number of river beaches in the vicinity, and the shores of the Castelo do Bode lake are 15 minutes' drive from the property.
The property is situated at approximately equal distance from Lisbon and Porto airport, both of which are around two hours' drive away. Both airports are serviced by several low cost airlines which operate regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom and other European countries.
