This lovely country property has already had some work done to it making it perfectly habitable as it is. The property downstairs has a large open space dining/living room with exposed stone walls, terracotta tiled floors and exposed beam ceilings.. There is a toilet and space either for storage or it could also be used for an office.
The kitchen, which has excellent sun exposure, has been recently fitted. It sits lovely on a stone effect wall and has lots of storage. It has two large windows, making it double aspect.
Upstairs is where the bedrooms are. The master room was initially two bedrooms which have now been made into one, making space for a spacious double room. The other two bedrooms are both good sizes also. All of upstairs has tiled flooring and at the end of the hallway, a new front door has been fitted. There is also a small living room where there is an open fireplace. The family bathroom is a good size but could use some updating.
Now to the outside, there are various outbuildings to the back where there is a barbecue and a bread oven. The land is mainly flat and is all fenced in.
The property is located in the village of Torre, which is only a short drive into Tomar. There are some cafés around and also a petrol station.
Tomar, which has supermarkets, shops, builders merchants, cafes, restaurants, health centres, schools, a weekly market, swimming pools and historic Convento do Cristo and Castle constructed by the Knight Templars in the 12th century is around 10 minutes away.
To Castelo de Bode Lake it is only around 15 minutes away. This lake is popular for all kinds of water sport activities including swimming, sailing, canoeing, scuba diving, wind surfing and water skiing. The lake is also a haven for wildlife and there are many river beaches close to the property, ideal for relaxing on sunny days at the water's edge.
The closest airport to the property is situated at Lisbon, which is around one and a half hours' drive from the cottage, though it is possible to utilize either train or bus for this journey. Lisbon airport is serviced by several low cost airlines which operate regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom and other European countries.
