We access the property through a metal gate into a small patio. The ground floor consists of three storage rooms, one of which was used as a wine cellar.
The first floor is accessed by slate covered stone steps. The door opens into a living room, from which there is an exterior door to the two story ruin attached to the main house, and to another living room to one side. To the other, we have two small bedrooms, and another open space with an stairs up to the attic.
From the second living room, there is a door to a conservatory with a bathroom attached.
To the rear of the house, there is a metal door giving access to the ruin attached to the main house. Also to the rear of the house there is a stone built storage shed and a small courtyard.
The stone walls of this property are in good condition, and the property was connected to mains electricity. Mains water connection is on the doorstep.
There is a café with mini market just down the road.
This property would be suitable to be developed into a family home, with rental potential. The area is popular with nature lovers, there are lots of paths for long hikes and several river beaches in the area. The highest mountain range of Portugal is a two hour drive away. Here we have snow in the winter and the possibility to ski. The Atlantic Ocean is just over an hours´ drive away.
The property is located in a peaceful little hamlet 6,4 km, a 10 minute drive from Castanheira da Pêra away. There is a renown weavery with a long tradition in this hamlet. Castanheira da Pêra, is a lovely town where all amenities can be found. Its main attraction is the 'Praia das Rocas', a wave fun park. There is an interesting artisans community in this area, including both locals and foreigners. The town is rich in history.
The airports of Lisbon and Porto are about the same distance away, some two and a half hours´ drive by car. Both airports are serviced by a number of low cost flight companies.
