The resort of Gréolières-les-Neiges, in the back country around Grasse, is one of the resorts closest to the coast. Greolieres Les Neiges is a large resort with 16 lifts (1 chair lift,13 surface lifts) that offers skiers a respectable 400 metres (1313 feet) of vertical descent. Greolieres Les Neiges has 30 pistes. There are 30 kilometers (19 miles) of cross country ski trails. It is known as a family resort above all, for alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in areas dedicated to each of these activities. From the top of the Cheiron ridge, you can see the splendid panoramas over the entire French Riviera, the Mercantour Massif and the Southern Alps. In summer season, the resort is know for mountain biking, hiking and paragliding. Also close to The Monts d'Azur Biological Reserve, a 700 hectare natural sanctuary for European wildlife.
