WHERE IS IT

The comune of Buggiano is located in the centre of Valdinievole, which has beautiful hills and valleys, between Lucca and Pistoia. It is equidistant (4 km) from Pescia and Montecatini Terme, and approximately 25 km from Pistoia.

In the months of April and May the private gardens belonging to the Buggiano Castle are open to the public. There are many varieties of plants, with many citrus plants. For this reason the village has been renamed the village of citrus fruits or 'Borgo degli Agrumi' in Italian.

Buggiano is also famous for being the birthplace of Andrea Cavalcanti, the painter who was a pupil of Brunelleschi.
