At the same time you are just 23 kilometres from Uzès (25 minutes), with its popular Saturday market and chic restaurants, and 50 from Bollène, where you can get the motorway. Nimes, with the airport, is 65 kilometres.
Weekly markets offer locally sourced farm produce in the nearby towns, several of which also hold medieval and antiques festivals. Swimming is popular in isolated and magical surrounding rivers, and other outdoor activities include horse-riding, kayaking, cycling and mountain climbing. There are many fascinating cities to visit, including Nîmes, Avignon, Anduze, Alès, Uzès, Montpellier and Marseille, and there is the Mediterranean coast at Grau-du-Roi, Sainte Marie de la Mer and the Camargue
