Full Description

A quirky and charming casa rural in the heart of one of the highest villages in the province of Malaga, set up in the mountains just south or Ronda and only 40 min’s from Marbella this is a lost paradise in the area known as the Alto Genal Valley.
The house was lovingly reformed using tradition and original materials throughout around 15 years ago, to be used as a climbers refugio, but since then has undergone other aesthetic changes and benefited from the addition of a roof terrace which offers the most amazing views to the Sierras de Bermeja and La Nieves, down into the chestnut covered valley below and across the roof tops of this sleepy pueblo.
Throughout the house there are chestnut beams supporting floors and roof , a plethora of quirky nooks and niches , original stair cases that may not be for the faint hearted , but just add to the charm of the place.
In 2007 the house was issued with a very hard to get licence of Casa Rural con Vivienda meaning you can rent out individual rooms whilst occupying part of the house yourself, it has been a popular stop for walkers and travellers alike over the past 10 years.
The accommodation is as follows, ground floor has 2 living and dining areas entered through the original huge wooden doors the first houses one of the biggest fireplace known in the village and really popular feature on a winter night with the guests. Off this there is the other dining area with a wood burner fitted; there is a kitchen which could be improved at little cost as is currently basic. Also on this level there is another little lounge with built seating and wood storage underneath. The bathrooms with 2 double showers, two toilet cubicles and wash hand basin area are also located on this floor
Up one flight of stairs you will find one cosy double bedroom with traditional wooden shuttered window, built shelving and wall heater
Through a quirky little door is the largest bedroom which has been used as a dormitory for up to 10 people, the floor here is covered with the original handmade terracotta baldoza tiles as well as standard single beds there are 2 mezzanine bunks nestling in the eaves of the roof with a ladder for access, a great hit with young guests .
Another staircase to the rear in the style of ships ladder leads up to 2 further bedrooms a spacious double and bunk room with glass block inserts in the roof to let the light shine through.
The house has updated electric throughout and has an internet and phone line connected.
Although this has been run as a casa rural it would also make a great holiday home retreat for the lovers of nature, walking and cycling because the area has so much to offer in all these activities, it really is a place to disconnect and relax and feels a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of life although Ronda is only 18kms away and the bright lights of the Costa del Sol is just a short and spectacular drive away down the mountains, A viewing is highly recommended to grasp the full enchantment of the house and the area in general.
