Leah Charles-King (Leah CK) presents the Channel 4 TV show A Place in the Sun.

Leah has more than 30 years experience in the mainstream media and the entertainment industry as a multi award-winning music artist, TV Presenter and Radio Host.

Her music career began in the 1990’s as one third of R&B Pop girlband - ‘Kleshay’ - signed to Sony Music, and enjoyed two UK chart singles as well as a successful arena tour as supporting act for Lionel Richie. She also offered backing vocals for the likes of George Michael, Andreas Bocelli and Mary J Blige.

In 2001 Leah began her presenting career as the first ever (and only to date) Black female Continuity Presenter on CITV (Children's ITV) in its 45-year history.

Known for her incredibly personable, engaging and witty style, Leah is an accomplished presenter who has racked up well over 100,000 hours of live, unscripted, non-autocued TV presenting experience, and has produced and presented programs transmitted across Europe, USA and African mainstream television.

Leah is a passionate advocate for the Black Lives Matter movements and has written several blogs on her own experiences in the industry. Recognised and respected in the industry among her peers, Leah has worked with a host of major broadcasters such as: BBC, CITV, Disney Channel, B.E.T, Channel 5, The Beat London FM, and Sky Television.

In 2019, Leah spoke publicly for the first time of her secret battle since being diagnosed with bipolar and generalised anxiety disorder seven years ago. Since then, Leah has been using her platform for mental health advocacy by producing podcasts, videos and blogs aimed at normalising the conversation around mental illness and ending the stigma. Leah recently filmed a report for BBC’s ‘The One Show’ called “Bipolar and Me” where she openly discussed her experiences. It was watched by over 8.8 million viewers. Leah is also a very proud Ambassador for Bipolar UK.
