Property in Alanya

For many years, the coastal resorts of Turkey have been a magnet for tourist visitors from far and wide. One of the most attractive of these resorts is Alanya, affectionately and rightly known as the ‘Pearl of the Turkish Riviera’ – only by visiting can you really truly appreciate why this title is so appropriate. Located in the south-east Mediterranean region, some 135 km east of the provincial capital of Antalya, welcoming in excess of 3 million visitors for the last 3 consecutive years, Alanya is now firmly established as one of the ‘go-to’ destinations in all of the Mediterranean region.

The resort of Alanya offers something for everybody – as well as being budget-friendly, it offers more than 300 days of sunshine a year, it has an abundant choice of fine dining and nightlife, it has seemingly endless expanses of golden sandy beaches and is rich in sites of historical importance. Without doubt, the most prominent of these sites is Alanya castle, originally built nearly 800 years ago and at its highest point, around 300 metres above sea level – this is truly a spectacular sight, particularly at night, when it is illuminated and can be seen for miles.

Of the 486 ‘blue-flag’ designated beaches in Turkey, the second highest of all countries that are included in this accreditation programme, 72 of these can be found along the Alanya coastline, from Okurcalar in the west to Kargicak in the east.

Expatriates from far and wide are proud to call Alanya their home, making it, without doubt, the most cosmopolitan of all resorts in Turkey. However, unlike many other resorts where there is a large foreign contingent, it manages to retain much of its Turkish charm and authenticity. With golden, sandy beaches and the Mediterranean sea to one side and the spectacular Taurus mountains to the other, Alanya is also one of the most scenic resorts in Turkey.

Alanya is now firmly established as one of the ‘go-to’ Mediterranean destinations, both for holiday-makers and those seeking their dream home in the sun – as well as being one of the most popular resort in Turkey (in terms of numbers of tourists hosted), it also attracts a large number of foreign property investors.
