That's a wrap! Last weekend (18th - 20th September) A Place in the Sun Live returned to the NEC to help thousands of house hunters make the dream of owning a property abroad a reality.
For anyone dreaming of buying a holiday home, relocating overseas or simply wondering what life in the sun could look like, A Place in the Sun Live is the place to start. The official exhibition of the hit Channel 4 TV show brings together property experts, estate agents, developers and specialists in areas such as legal, finance, tax, currency and relocation, alongside hundreds of properties from destinations around the world.
So, let’s take a look back at some of the highlights that made this year’s show such a memorable one ...
97 companies, 15+ countries & 300+ experts
With 97 companies, representatives from 15+ countries and more than 300 experts under one roof, there was certainly no shortage of inspiration in Birmingham. From property developers and estate agents to currency specialists, legal, financial and relocation experts, visitors could find information and advice covering almost every stage of their overseas property journey.
A chance to meet the TV stars: Jasmine Harman, Jean Johansson & Laura Hamilton
House hunters had the chance to meet the presenters of the hit A Place in the Sun TV show. Jasmine Harman, Jean Johansson and Laura Hamilton were on hand to chat, share their experiences and take selfies throughout the weekend.
Jean Johansson reunited on stage with Joanne and Denzil who found their dream holiday home on the Costa Blanca on the TV show in January 2026. Joanne and Denzil had just returned from a trip to their new home, and they shared behind the scenes filming secrets, explained how the purchase process unfolded after filming ended, and gave their top tips for integrating with the local community.
Seminar sessions covering buying, tax, residency and relocating
From understanding the buying process to navigating tax and residency requirements, our seminar programme covered some of the biggest questions on the minds of overseas property buyers.
Our 'How and where to secure your place in the sun in the Cyprus property market' and 'Money matters; how to save £££ on currency transfer, get a mortgage in Spain and manage your assets when relocating overseas' seminars were particularly popular with house hunters.
The packed seminar schedule offered plenty of insight into the practicalities of making a move overseas, including visas and residency, tax, finance and what to expect from everyday life in a new country. Visitors could also get advice on choosing the right location, navigating the buying process and understanding the practical considerations that come with owning or relocating abroad.
Top tips for saving on overseas currency transfer
With so many exhibitors and experts under one roof, visitors could explore every part of the overseas property journey - from finding the right property and destination to getting advice on legal, financial, visa, tax, residency and relocation matters. And, of course, currency is another important part of the process to consider when buying or moving abroad.

Hundreds of properties to explore
We were joined by estate agents from around the world, showcasing a wide range of apartments, houses and villas in sought-after destinations. Visitors also had the opportunity to experience one new development in virtual reality, bringing the property to life and offering a glimpse of what it could be like to live there!
Meeting estate agents in person gave visitors the opportunity to ask questions, explore different properties and receive expert advice on the buying process. Their local knowledge can also provide valuable insight into the property market, legal requirements and practicalities of buying overseas, helping visitors feel more informed and confident about their purchase.
UK lifestyle zone
For those who love the idea of owning a property overseas but want to keep a base in the UK, the UK lifestyle zone offered another option to explore. Visitors could discover more about park home living and the possibility of having a UK bolt hole alongside an overseas property - giving them the freedom to enjoy the best of both worlds.

Our Birmingham exhibition may be over and out, but the A Place in the Sun Live journey continues! Next up, we’re heading to Dublin, where we’ll be at the RDS on 10th & 11th October for our Property Showcase event.
