Well, the UK heatwave is well and truly over (for now), so maybe you're back dreaming of an escape to the sun?
We recently decided to crunch the numbers for property enquiries across Europe, but with Spain being front and centre of so many searches, we have taken a deeper dive into the country. British buyer favourites on the southern Costas dominate our top 10, and it’s clear that budgets have increased since last year.
Some buyers are casting their net wider for more value – we reveal these in our Spanish hotspots on the rise next up.
1. Torrevieja
Average: £223,245
Eternally at the top, it seems, Torrevieja is the big-name starting point for many property hunts in Alicante province. The vibrant beach resort, loved by Spaniards and foreigners alike, is easily reached from Alicante airport, and the former salt-mining town offers sandy beaches, shopping, golf clubs, waterparks and a lively nightlife. It’s a good place to look for a property if you have less than £100k.

5. Estepona

It’s become the hotspot of the Costa del Sol, thanks to its affordability compared to nearby Marbella. The western edge of the "New Golden Mile", it offers beaches, international schools, improved infrastructure and the sort of laid-back lifestyle that many full-time movers love – just ask Jasmine Harman. Prices are rising, with entry-level properties around £200k and larger new-build apartments closer to the average above.
