Lanzarote: a place for property hunters to live the dream?

Lanzarote: a place for property hunters to live the dream?

With beautiful natural landscapes including stunning volcanic expanses and over 100 beaches and year-round tropical climate Lanzarote has much to offer home hunters.

Whether you are bringing up a family, following a new business dream or preparing for a well-earned retirement, Lanzarote ticks so many boxes, according to agent Mark Carroll at M J Homes (mjhomes.es).

"It's got a safe, tranquil atmosphere, with a crime rate second to none and it is a clean and well-kept island," he says.

"It's got everything from modern tourist attractions such as waterparks and nightlife to quaint villages for those who aspire to live the dream of a pure Mediterranean lifestyle.

"Lanzarote has easy access to all major European airports, and as it is part of the European Union, any EU citizen can simply get on a plane without the need of visas or any other immigration issues."

He adds that with its ever-growing popularity there's no wonder why investments in Lanzarote are now more attractive than ever before.

"Property prices are at their lowest in years - they are down 25 to 50 per cent from their peak, as an average - it is sure to be the right time to invest for a bright future."

Mark cherrypicks three examples of properties currently for sale.

Firstly there is a three-bed luxury villa in Los Mojones for €450k - pictured here. Los Mojones is an exclusive area of the major resort of Puerto Del Carmen.

Or you can get more for your money in Tahiche: a four-bed detached house for €279,000 in a residential area 10 minutes drive from beaches and five minutes from a golf course.

Tahiche is a small village, located almost midway between the more famous cities of Arrecife and the resort of Teguise. It's perhaps best known for one of the most famous people from the island, César Manrique - the island's famous architect.

Or, in the nearby holiday area of Costa Teguise, there's a two-bed apartment for €130,000.
