Foreigners flocking to Paris

Foreign buyers are flocking to Paris, where, according to local experts, property is selling for record prices and beating previous sales numbers month on month.

According to Sotheby's International Realty, 2011 saw a 34% increase in sales of Parisian property compared with 2010, and 2012 looks set to be another positive year.

“Throughout history, real estate has been a safe haven and many foreign customers, who come to invest, see Paris is a safe bet,” commented the company's Paulo Fernandes.

With recent reports that Paris is now the priciest city to rent in Europe, investing in property in the city could also be a smart financial move, providing plenty of rental return.
