The recently-completed French property development, Le Coeur d'Or, which was constructed by MGM, is proving extremely popular, with just five of the 45 properties remaining for sale.

The brand new residence de tourisme features a wide range of four-star facilities, including an indoor pool, fitness suite, gym, cinema, sports centre, conference rooms, sauna, jacuzzi and steam rooms.

The developer decided to build the scheme on the edge of Bourg St Maurice, a bustling French Alpine town easily accessible from the UK by train, car or by air, due to its year-round popularity with tourists, not to mention top nearby ski resorts, such as Bourg St Maurice, located at the heart of the Tarentaise Valley.

The new build apartments, available on a sale and leaseback basis, start from €300,000 (£265,000) for a two-bedroom duplex with a floor area of 70 square metres rising to €388,000 (£342,500) for a four-bedroom property of 87 square metres. Prices, which exclude French VAT at 19.6 per cent, waived under the leaseback scheme, include underground parking space, cellar and ski locker.

A spokesperson for the French property builder insists that the apartments have been planned, furnished and decorated to optimise space and natural light. Living rooms open on to balconies or terraces and most of them have panoramic mountain views.
