3 Bed Apartment for sale
Collesano, Palermo, Sicily, Italy
Full Description
Freshly renovated and ready to move into, Appartamento Angelo is a first-floor home on the main road into Collesano, in the green hills of the Madonie Natural Park. Its three bedrooms and bright, airy lounge make it a comfortable base for a new life in Sicily.
Right Above a Traditional Sicilian Bar
A wrought-iron and glass front door and a veined marble staircase lead up to the apartment, where the lounge and dining room has big windows on two sides. The masonry kitchen opens off it, with a marble worktop and a breakfast bar facing the mountains.
The main bedroom has a walk-in wardrobe and an en-suite with a walk-in shower, while two single bedrooms share a family bathroom with a charming wooden ceiling. A laundry room, air conditioning and central heating add to the comfort.
Views over the Madonie Hills
A long balcony runs off the lounge with beautiful countryside views, and two of the bedrooms have marble balconies of their own. This is a very green corner of town, perfect for evening drinks outdoors.
Beyond the balconies, the Madonie Natural Park is a UNESCO Global Geopark of olive groves, woodland and peaks rising to nearly 2,000m. You can walk, cycle or ride through it for most of the year, ski at Piano Battaglia in winter and stop for lunch in pretty villages such as Gratteri.
One of Sicily's Most Unexpectedly International Villages
Collesano is home to a warm international community, with neighbours from across Europe and North America. One French resident has even been asked to stand for the local council, and a Swiss owner has an apartment on the main piazza. The town is also famous for the Targa Florio motor race and its handmade majolica.
The high street, a supermarket and a school are all a few minutes away on foot, the beaches of Cefalù are about thirty minutes' drive and Palermo is an hour away. Whether you want a family home at a very approachable price or a comfortable second home in the sun, this is an apartment that is easy to fall for.
