The trail or path forms part of the European long-distance path E9 and connects two villages by the Tagus riverfront to the protected Mata dos Medos Botanical Reserva, a natural reserve with 340 hectares open to all, for contemplating unparalleled biodiversity and many unique species. The walk also offers the possibility of a visit to the Convento dos Capuchos, an historical landmark from the 16th century.
