The apartment is conveniently positioned to access the A3 autostrada at Falerna from where it is possible to explore the many traditional hilltop villages eg. Locri and La Sila National Park, which is approx. 1 ½ hr drive away and boasts some of the most spectacular and dramatic scenery offered in the area coupled with year-round activities such as walking, pony trekking, quad bikes and skiing in the winter.
Further to the south are the beautiful resorts of Pizzo, famous for its sphere shaped, hazelnut and chocolate ice cream “Tartufo di Pizzo,” and Tropea for its beautiful beaches and the iconic Sanctuary of Santa Maria dell’ Isola, a ancient monastery set on a rocky outcrop in the sea.
Other places of interest include the museum housing The Bronzes of Riace at Reggio Calabria.
