We’re still dreaming of owning a place in the sun! New research from A Place in the Sun reveals that property hunters are still as motivated as ever to find a property overseas.
The latest A Place in the Sun survey, completed by more than 2,000 aspiring overseas homeowners, reveals that buyers are still as motivated as ever. 58% of house hunters are planning to buy their place in the sun in the next two years, and Spain still takes the top spot as most popular location with France, Cyprus, Portugal and Italy the next most popular choices.
Our survey reveals that 45% of house hunters are planning to relocate to sunnier climes permanently, whilst 44% are planning to buy a holiday home. The majority of respondents were searching for a house or villa, although we have seen an increase in those looking for an apartment since the beginning of this year. What else did we find out?
We’ve all got different priorities when it comes to choosing the perfect property - our property hunters said that the top things they look for when browsing properties were:
- Distance from amenities
- Price
- Amount of land/outdoor space
- Number of bedrooms
- Property condition
