The approach climbs through olive terraces, and then the sea arrives all at once: the whole eastern horizon, Albania and the Greek mainland to the north, Paxos far to the south. Built in 2009 by its present owners, it was designed to belong to the ground it stands on. Venetian influence and the shape of the old olive grove set its form: an Italian country house in spirit, contemporary in its flow, built from handpicked Italian and locally sourced materials. It settles into the landscape rather than sitting upon it, yet from the water below it reads as a landmark.

Light is the organising principle inside. Panoramic windows open the living spaces to the sea, while smaller openings frame one thing only: a rock, an olive, a stretch of coast.
