The walled medieval town of Óbidos is fifteen minutes inland. North lie Peniche, Baleal and the surf breaks at Supertubos; south, the Óbidos Lagoon, Foz do Arelho and the West Cliffs coastline. Lisbon airport is sixty minutes by motorway.
