Rieux en Val, just a little further away, has a seasonal weekly farmers market. Taurize has a lovely swimming lake. Trebes, on the Canal du Midi, is about 25 kilometres away, with a full range of shops and a supermarket.
The popular medieval village of Lagrasse with its numerous different themed festivals, and artisanal shops and restaurants and summer river swimming is close by.
The house is just 40 minutes from Carcassonne airport and one hour from the Mediterranean beaches, with plenty of options for lunch.
