Two bedroomed cottage located in the picturesque hamlet of Zaccharia, just below the main village of Tseria. This stone built cottage was restored in the year 2000, and has retained many of the traditional features found in cottages of the Mani. After the 20 plus years the property does need some modernisation and small repairs but is fully liveable today and a great place to escape some of the pressures of modern life. A rustic feel throughout, the main living space has three sets of french windows, stepping out to two large balcony areas, west and north facing to capture the best views from this property. The many windows let in lots of light to the main living space, and create a warm, cosy lounge area in front of wood log burning fire. An upper floor space of
here 50m2 provides a large open space for the lounge, kitchen and dining area, and a large open vaulted wood ceiling keeps everything open and light. The lower floor, accessed by a stone staircase, has two large double bedrooms with a toilet and shower room servicing both. From one of the bedrooms it is possible to step out into the garden area through more french windows. A small apothiki (storage shed) attached to the property, houses a water tank and pump and tools for the garden. Although relatively small, the garden and courtyard of the property is walled and enclosed, and is set on various levels. The property is accessed from the roadway, via a short traditional kalderimi footpath and through a gated doorway. Surrounded on all four sides by the local nature, olive trees, fauna and shrubs. The property will suit an active person, who still has good mobility and wants to experience the peace, tranquility and nature of the Mani mountains. Step out of the front gate and on to one of the many hiking trails surrounding the property, which take you up the hillside or down to the coast and the Mediterranean Sea. Or a 20 minute drive down brings you the traditional fishermans village of Kardamyli, and the many other lovely coastal villages of the Mani coast. Tseria village above has two year round taverna's and a thriving community. Supermarkets and other services can be found at the coast, or a short drive to the regional centre of Kalamata, where the international airport can be found also.
