Full Description

This 5 bedroom farmhouse has been beautifully renovated and manages to strike the perfect balance between the traditional and the contemporary. The property comes with a landscaped garden, several large outbuildings and a lovely pool. Shops are within walking distance and the bustling medieval town of Uzes is 25mins away. The airport and TGV are within easy reach at Nimes.

The main house (200 m²) features an open-plan ground floor with a contemporary fitted kitchen with concrete countertops, plus a handy laundry/pantry. The large dining room and living room have bay windows on both sides meaning there’s plenty of natural light. There’s also a ground floor bedroom and bathroom.

Upstairs is a large landing, separate bathroom and two bedrooms, each with their own bathrooms. There’s also a fabulous master suite with a generous bathroom and terrace.

Outside:

The fully enclosed garden has been beautifully landscaped in a Provençal style and measures about half an acre. There’s also a lovely swimming pool. Access to the house is via automatic gates. There’s an independent studio of 30 m² and a larger garage/workshop measuring 60 m². Adjoining the house is a terraced area, that’s perfect for al-fresco dining.

Location:

The bustling market town of Uzes is quintessentially French and is 25mins from the property. The town itself has cobbled streets, fine Renaissance mansions and a magnificent central square, the Place-aux-Herbes. The square is surrounded by limestone arches under which shops and restaurants spill out, all shaded by the established sycamore trees. There are two markets every week, one for fresh produce on a Wednesday and another more extensive market on a Saturday. The square is often used for antique stalls, exhibitions, art shows and the annual truffle fair!

Nîmes, about 40mins away, is a historic city and is often referred to as the "French Rome" due to its remarkable Roman architecture. The city boasts a vibrant food scene, with bustling markets like Les Halles and a wide variety of cafés and restaurants. The city has both an airport and a TGV station.
