Full Description

A PERIOD HOME IN A 1960s BUILDING
Light, spacious, functional spaces, and hallways were designed to meet the needs of the owners.

Purchased in 1964 by the family of the wife of a respected doctor from Lanciano, the apartment is on the second floor with elevators.

The apartment is spacious, as it was originally two apartment. Now joined and made into one large apartment, but two separate apartments is possible.

The apartment comprises of a welcoming entrance hall with direct access to a large living room connected to an adjacent small living room and overlooking Corso Trento e Trieste via a small balcony.

The entrance hall continues with a kitchen and utility room, a hallway, a first bathroom, another room with open plan, a hallway, a small bathroom with two more rooms, and finally two large bedrooms with balconies and an additional bathroom.

Its furniture from different eras, tells a story. Antique pieces, such as the 19th-century French servant, with a hand-painted Sèvres porcelain medallion, dominate the living room, along with an antique family mirror. The living room features two modern sofas from the 1960s: one in velvet and the other with a floral pattern, the latter belonging to the owners' grandmother. The Beetle-style bar cabinet,
made of various 1960s woods, also features. Not all anti

In the hallway, there's a 1950s wardrobe by Umberto Mascagni, as does the desk in the
study, both of which are upholstered in faux leather.
Adjacent to the 1940s/1950s Chippendale-style master bedroom is a master bathroom with powder-pink fixtures and a bathtub designed for Ideal Standard in 1955 by Giò Ponti, an architect who shaped the history of Italian design.

This home, with its refined finishes and details such as vintage chandeliers and rusticated lacquered doors with glass cabinets, exudes a retro feel from times gone by. Not all of the furniture is included but is available for negotiation.

THE OWNERS' STORY
The owners' story is a great love story, which began in the years following the Second World War.
He was a medical student in Bologna and originally from Lanciano. She, from San Benedetto, went to Lanciano to visit her grandmother for the September holidays. It was love at first sight from their first meeting, and they never left each other.

His uncle and aunt lived in this house their entire lives, as he became a respected doctor.
Their home was always open to all their numerous friends, colleagues, clients, and relatives. In fact, the living area of ??the house was used for parties and gatherings for the family and the Lanciano residents.

Their living room always overlooked the main Corso Trento e Trieste, serving as a stage during the holidays and any other events, such as the Mastro Giurato, which takes place at the end of August.
