Elegant and surprising atypical townhouse
This house offers the opportunity to live in the heart of one of the most popular towns in the Gers:
Condom and its cathedral, its pilgrims, its restaurants, its streets with dressed stone facades and among them, this house that stands out with an Art Deco façade.
A good-sized plot of land for a city centre property, it has a large and elegant reception room where you could imagine receiving your friends for an evening on the theme of "The Roaring Twenties". A large bow window gives direct access to the back of the house, and its garden totally enclosed by walls.
An outbuilding at the bottom of the garden is used as a garage and tool shed.
Upstairs, a terrace with the geometric shapes of Art Deco overlooks the garden and is the perfect place to enjoy the warmth of summer evenings and listen to Ella Fitzgerald's "Summertime" on an old turntable.

The property
We cross the small black iron gate, decorated with elegant details, which is integrated with the white Art Deco style railings delimiting and enclosing the entire property.
A perfect prelude to discovering the surprising interior of this house.
Before our visit, it should be noted that the current owners have undertaken a lot of renovation work.

Ground floor
The front door opens: What a surprise and what elegance!
Our gaze is immediately caught by this beautiful Art Deco style staircase. It's not the one on rue Cambon, but we are certain at Bliss that Coco Chanel could have borrowed it. White and very bright, creating an elegant contrast with the black railing decorated with geometric patterns, it is a centerpiece of this nugget hidden in Condom and that we cannot imagine.
Straight ahead a small door with delicate tiles leads to a guest toilet and sink.
Also in the extension of the entrance, a first access to the ground floor bedroom with light parquet flooring and white walls. A second door leads us to what will soon become the travertine bathroom and the toilet of this room.
Let's retrace our steps in the entrance, and immediately to the left, cross the double glass door with small old bevelled panes. Two imposing white columns confirm the Art Deco style, and welcome us to this very bright living room with light parquet flooring, and divided into two atmospheres:
The first for film lovers with a television area, and the second with brown leather armchairs and a black sofa facing an elegant brick fireplace, an ideal space to enjoy an Armagnac from the region while being lulled by a jazz tune.
The living room opens wide onto the garden bathed in light thanks to a magnificent double bow-window door. The setting sun brings amber undertones to the entire room.
At the far right, a space framed by white woodwork and windows with small panes and old cremone leads us to an equally spectacular kitchen. An exposed stone wall brings a mineral touch in harmony with the travertine floor. Black furniture and worktops contrast with immaculate walls and a white ceiling from which LEDs emerge, creating an atmosphere that is both modern and welcoming. It is a space large enough to organize and host convivial meals for the whole family, and where visiting friends will always find a place.
In the extension of the kitchen, a French window lets us glimpse the majestic cedar enthroned in the garden like a protective guardian.
An adjacent room closed by a sliding door on our right, reveals what serves both as a technical room for the boiler and as a laundry room with the washing machine.

The First Floor
We arrive on a large landing. To the left, the largest of the bedrooms, illuminated by two tall east-facing windows with oak parquet flooring, opens onto what will become the largest of the bathrooms. Everything is already fitted out to accommodate a bath, a shower, sinks and toilets. A pretty cement tile floor probably from the 50s, with its shades of blue and green, adds a vintage touch and brings a little extra charm to this surprising house.
