A castle steeped in history
Built in the seventeenth century? and XVIII? On the site of an old seigniorial house mentioned as early as 1264, this pleasure castle bears witness to more than eight centuries of history.
Take back the history I sent you by email,
bought the castle and restored it completely. He modernized the facades, added two wings set at right angles and redesigned the gardens, punctuated by elegant flowerbeds, bridges, water mirrors and refined sculptures.
In 1791, the estate entered by marriage into the family of the Counts Dubois de Riocour, who remained the owners for more than two centuries. In 1856, they raised a second floor and installed a splendid central staircase with a double revolution, a masterpiece in wood and wrought iron.
The castle has been listed in the Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments since June 1992, in recognition of its exceptional architectural and historical interest.

Architecture and composition
Built of chalk stone and topped with an Irish purple slate roof, the castle stands in the centre of a vast rectangular embankment surrounded by a moat. It is accessed by a footbridge spanning the waters, adorned with a monumental gate of honour.
The main building, oriented east-west, benefits from optimal sunshine: the gardens to the east, the main courtyard to the west. The architectural ensemble presents a harmonious composition:
a central body flanked by two wings set at right angles,
two symmetrical lower wings,
and two square pavilions (former dovecotes) framing the courtyard.
The varied roofs, the eight finials and the balanced proportions give the whole a charm of rare elegance.
A north extension breaks the symmetry slightly and houses a covered and heated swimming pool (4 m × 10 m).
The total surface area of the castle and its extension exceeds 1,500m², to which are added 210 m² of accessible attic space and 128 m² of non-accessible attic.
