Full Description
In the heart of Crete, just twenty minutes from vibrant Heraklion, lies the village of Agios Myronas – a place where time flows gently and traditions remain alive.
There, at the highest point of the settlement, stands a two–storey stone house, built in 1890.
A home that carries the patina of time upon its walls, whispering stories of generations gone by.
The property is set within a 200 sq.m. plot, offering space and potential to be transformed into a serene retreat.
Its original layout reflects the essence of traditional Cretan life:
On the ground floor there was a stable, the kitchen, the main living room, and an ontas (a traditional room used for rest or hospitality).
On the upper floor, a large room accommodated the family, along with a spacious veranda from which one could gaze over the entire village and the surrounding mountains.
Though today the building requires a complete renovation, it still retains the charm that only old houses can radiate.
The unobstructed view from the veranda and balcony fills the visitor with a sense of freedom and peace.
This two–storey house is not merely a dwelling; it is a canvas for dreams. Its stone, authentic and enduring, awaits the touch of a new owner to breathe life into it once again – whether as a romantic residence, or as a guesthouse welcoming travelers in search of authenticity.
In Agios Myronas, life follows the rhythm of nature and of people who still smile to each other on the streets.
And this house, standing at the village’s highest point like a silent guardian, offers the privilege of seeing the world from above, wrapped in a feeling of eternal tranquility.
