Market day is on a Wednesday throughout the year and in July/August also on a Sunday. It takes up the entire central square.

French transport systems are excellent. The TGV from Paris to Libourne takes just 3 hours and costs between £70-130. Driving from Paris will take about double that time. In addition there are plenty of international flights from the UK to Bordeaux.
