In an exchange with the plot’s previous owner, we learned that Jean-Alfred Mogenet, a writer and poet from Samoëns, was one of his forebears and had lived on the family farm we’re rehabilitating, where he found inspiration and wrote his verses ! One of his descendants, Rémi Mogenet, himself a literary man and poet, paid tribute to him in a book about his work. Jam’S poems, as he called himself, were written in the local dialect and expressed the events of his daily life, the peasant life of his time. Listening to this beautiful story, drawn from the local heritage and the land of this parcel, we wanted a name that would recall his talent and thus praise this distinguished village poet.
