Full Description

Offering a breathtaking vista of the town of Mytilene and the Aegean Sea, which extends all the way to Turkey's coastline, this townhouse provides an ideal blend of accommodation and income-generating property.

Originally built in 1950, the Townhouse was fully renovated in 2005. It rests on a 150 sqm plot and comprises three different apartments, one on each floor, each with its own entrance and independent from the others. The apartments are as follows:

Basement apartment (78 sqm - actually on the ground level): Living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom with large bathtub. One further bedroom can be constructed on this floor.

First-floor apartment (78 sqm): Living/dining room, second dining room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom with large bathtub. One more bedroom can be constructed on this floor. This floor has a large - 7 m - balcony with a breathtaking vista of the city of Mytilene and the North Aegean Sea. The apartment has a second entrance leading to the backyard, which features orange and lemon trees and a patio, which can be used, in the summer, as an outdoor dining space.

Second-floor apartment (52 sqm - penthouse loft): Living/dining room, bedroom, bathroom with bathtub. Its large, 15 sqm balcony offers breathtaking views of the city of Mytilene, extending all the way up to the coastline of Turkey. The loft can be connected with the first-floor apartment to form a spacious maisonette.

The entire Townhouse is sold tastefully decorated and furnished, featuring many antique pieces. The highest quality materials have been used, including Italian and Spanish tiles, granite and prime-quality wood, while windows and other frames are aluminium double-glazed, fitted with nets. All apartments are fitted with AC units for heating and cooling purposes.

Rental possibilities

This versatile property can accommodate many different rental scenarios, spanning from long-term rentals to tenants working or studying in Mytilene, to short-term ones to holidaymakers. All three units in the townhouse are independent and can be rented individually, while the location and vista of the townhouse make it very attractive.

Location

Mytilene is the capital of the island of Lesvos as well as the administrative centre of the North Aegean region of Greece. It also features the headquarters of the University of the Aegean. Both the island and the city have long and rich histories. At the same time, they have been the birth or living places of many notable personalities, spanning from Sappho, Epicurus and Theophrastus in ancient times, to painter Theophilos, Nobel Laureate Odysseas Elytis and writer Stratis Myrivilis in modern ones.

There are many notable landmarks to visit in Mytilene, indicatively, the impressive Baroque church of St. Therapon, the Theophilos museum, the Catholic church of Theotokos, where the relics of St. Valentine are kept, as well as the archaeological museum and the Byzantine museum. Mytilene is also famous for its 'ouzeri', traditional Greek taverns serving ouzo and titbits and many restaurants that cater to every taste and budget.

The international Airport of Lesvos has connections to many, mostly European cities, with scheduled flights on a daily basis, especially during the summer months. Lesvos can also be reached by ferry, both from Piraeus (journey time 13 h) and Thessaloniki (journey time 10 h).
