Full Description
A unique opportunity is presenting itself. Imagine 8500ha of low density, blue chip big game traversing, two furnished homes to call home, a Land Cruiser game view vehicle and to top it all off, an elevated view across a seasonal river. I urge you to look at the video to get a greater understanding of the lay-out and what is on offer. There are two separate homes (one sleeps 8, the other 6) linked with walkways that meet up roughly in the middle at an entertainment area with a pool, fire pit and bar area, pure bushveld bliss. Out of the 7 bedrooms only 2 rooms share a bathroom the rest are all en suite. The living areas, 4 carports, garden and staff quarters are electric game fenced for ease of movement between the homes and garden.
Regarding additional infrastructure and specific improvements, there are 2 boreholes (one operational) and 2 x 2500l JoJo water tanks. The 4-car carport is a very generous size. The staff quarters host 2 separate bedrooms with pajama lounges, their own bathrooms and a communal kitchen, very nice and neat.
The roofs have Harvey Tile over the thatch that drastically minimizes baboon damage and helps lower maintenance costs. There is no solar but a lovely gas stove in the kitchen.
First option is to outright buy the full share for R11.95 million or, buy a 50 percent share for R5 975 000 million. Current running costs for 2 partners are
R35 000,00 (including salaries, power, rates, and traversing) If there are 2 shareholders it will be split in the middle (more detail once there is a definite offer).
The Karongwe Game Reserve is an untamed garden of untouched, wild, bushveld bliss. Here you can enjoy the view of the river from the comfort of your deck or go and explore, an adventure awaits you every single day. Korongwe Private Game Reserve comprises 8 500ha of African bushveld and is situated east of the Drakensberg Mountains in the Limpopo Province.
The topography within the reserve is characterized by undulating terrain, with scattered rocky outcrops where your eyes will search for klipspringer, leopard or a rock monitor soaking up the hot African sun.
There is plenty game on Korongwe Reserve, the big five, the small five… also cheetah, wild dog, spotted and brown hyena, jackal, honey badgers and plenty of plains game. At night have your spotlight ready for nocturnal creatures like bush babies, spring hare, porcupines, aardvark, caracals, civets and genets. Because of various water sources you will also see crocodiles, hippos, terrapins and otters. Plenty of bird species are seen, especially at the big dams and along the rivers, always have a pair of binoculars ready, not to mention a camera!
South Africa is in the Southern Hemisphere which means the warmer months are from October to March. Regardless of the weather, game viewing is great all year round, be aware of seasonal changes as with every season there will be variations in the vegetation and that changes the movements of animals.
