While Verni, lower down was owned by the Noble family of the Corvaia's back in the 14th century, Trassilico belonged to the Este family and indeed the village has the tourist site of the Fortress which has recently been made more popular with tourists. Another notable thing about the village is that it has a Festa of the Summer Solstice in June as well as the fact that twice a year, you can see the sun set through MONTE FORATO which is a mountain of the Apuan Alps that is characterise by having a natural hole in it
The house is accessed by foot, an ample parkinglot which van be found outside the village. The village also has a bus service. Short access to the house is by foot otherwise if you would like to go by a very small car or quadbike you should drive around the village.
The house is a stunning example of Tuscan charm and character with every detail covered. One enters on the ground floor. There is a sizeable bathroom on the left and a well appointed workroom on the right where they currently stored there prosciutto.
Up the wooden staircase to the dine in livingroom called a "Tinello" that connects to the kitchen via a brick arch. It has a stunning fireplace and a very traditional brick kitchen. The current owner has preserved the orginal 17th century features of the orginal kitchen.
The top floor has one double bedroom and two single bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have windows with beautiful views of the village and hills. The other has french windows leading to terrace. The terrace spans the entire house. The entire house has treated wooden beams and terracotta tiles. All windows are double glaced.
This house is the perfect base for adventures across the Apuan Alps to the Versillian coast aswell as loads of other amazing mountain walks.
