This property is located on the outskirts of the village of Kares Apokoronas, in a quiet and peaceful area, surrounded by the beautiful majestic Cretan mountains and green landscape.

Kares is a small village that administratively belongs to the Municipality of Apokoronas and is located 35 kilometers southwest of the city of Chania. The altitude in the square which is built in the middle of the village and at the lowest point is 550m. The seven hills that surround the village have a higher altitude. It is the most mountainous village of the Apokoronas district. It is surrounded by seven hills, in a circular arrangement, which leave an opening only from the northern part. Today, about 76 people live permanently in the village. The inhabitants are engaged in the cultivation of olives, vines, walnuts, fruit trees and vegetables, which are sufficient for local needs only. Other occupations of the inhabitants are livestock farming, especially goat breeding and beekeeping.

In Nio Chorio, the closest large village, there is an ATM, supermarket, bakery and butcher, cafes and bus stops with daily routes to Chania. In the nearby seaside towns of Kalyves (15km) or Georgioupolis (11km) there is a wide variety of shops and services, ATMs and pharmacies and of course wonderful organized beaches with water sports facilities.

Apokoronas is an area that extends in the north-eastern part of the prefecture of Chania, at the foot of the White Mountains to the north coast of Crete. It is characterized by green hills and fertile land, due to the abundance of water that comes from the mountains, creating the only natural lake in Crete, as well as rivers that cross the area, before finding their way to the sea.
